Laatti (2022)

Murugananthan is a constable in Chennai, a loving husband and father, whose handling of a lathi is legendary. When he roughs up a man on a senior officer's orders, the man turns out to be the son of a ruthless gangster, and the suspended constable becomes a target. Things come to a head when Murugananthan and his young son are trapped inside a huge building under construction, surrounded by the gangster's men, with only his stick and his wits to keep the boy alive. Laatti is built around a long, punishing climax set inside the building, with Vishal doing much of his own action. It was produced by actors Ramana and Nandha and released in December 2022 in several languages.
