Raja grows up in Jodhpur with his father Murali, a cynical cheat who raised him after taking him away from his mother as a child and telling him she had died. Raja becomes a loafer who lives by his wits. When he meets Mouni, a young woman running away from a forced marriage, and falls for her, the trail of her pursuers leads somewhere unexpected and he finds that the truth about his own family is not what he was told. The film combines romance, action and a strong mother-son thread, with Revathi as the mother. It is notable as the film debut of Disha Patani, who soon moved to Hindi cinema, and as Varun Tej's first collaboration with Puri Jagannadh.
