Venky is a clever, resourceful young man who helps his friend elope with the sister of a feared Hyderabad goon, Babji, which puts him on the goon's hit list. Lying low, he falls for Chandrakala, only to discover that she has dangerous family connections of her own. To win her he must outwit both sides, using his wits rather than his fists, and the film's title means "cleverness". Loukyam is a comic action entertainer and became one of Gopichand's most successful films, helped by Brahmanandam's comic track as Sippy and Rakul Preet Singh's breezy presence.
