Omi Khurana left his Punjab village for London full of big dreams; years later he comes back in debt and on the run from the people he owes. Home is not as he left it: Daarji, the grandfather whose dhaba was famous for its Chicken Khurana, has lost his memory, the family business is failing, and Harman, the girl Omi left behind, is about to marry his cousin. Recovering the lost recipe becomes Omi's last chance to save himself and perhaps to grow up. Sameer Sharma's debut is a warm, funny ensemble comedy full of eccentric relatives, with an affectionate eye for small-town Punjab and its food. Amit Trivedi's music and the performances of Rajesh Sharma and Vinod Nagpal were widely praised, and the film helped launch Huma Qureshi as a lead actress.
