Maanja Velu (2010)

Velu is a carefree young man whose elder brother, played by veteran Karthik, is an honest police officer. When the officer's integrity brings him into conflict with a ruthless gang, the family pays a terrible price, and Velu sets out to take on the men responsible. The film follows the mass template of light comedy and romance in the first half and revenge in the second, and showcases Arun Vijay's athletic action style. Karthik, the 1980s and 90s romantic star, plays a rare elder-statesman role, while Santhanam handles the comedy. Maanja Velu is a Tamil remake of the Telugu action hit Lakshyam.
