Maasthi Gudi (2017)

Maasthi Gudi is a Kannada action drama starring Duniya Vijay, with Amulya and Kriti Kharbanda as the two women in his life. Set in and around forest country, it combines romance, family emotion and action, with the hero facing powerful enemies. The film is remembered above all for a tragedy during its making: in November 2016, actors Anil and Uday, who played the villains, drowned after jumping from a helicopter into Thippagondanahalli reservoir near Bengaluru during the shooting of a stunt. Vijay, who jumped with them, survived, and the accident led to calls for stricter safety rules on Kannada film sets.
