Mahapavan Teerth Yatra (1975)

Mahapavan Teerth Yatra ("the most sacred pilgrimage") is a devotional Hindi film of 1975 starring Ashish Kumar, who was then the leading face of mythological and religious cinema, with Rajni Bala. As its title says, it centres on a teerth yatra, the pilgrimage to sacred shrines, mixing faith, family sentiment and devotional songs in the manner of the many religious films that followed the success of Jai Santoshi Maa the same year. It is a gentle, prayerful film meant for family audiences, and of interest mainly to viewers who enjoy the devotional cinema of the 1970s.
