Maine Pyar Kiya (1989)

A rich man's son sent to stay with his father's old friend falls for the friend's daughter, and his father offers her family money to make it go away, so the boy sets out to earn enough to marry her himself. Salman Khan made his first leading film here, with Bhagyashree; Sooraj Barjatya's first film as director, for Rajshri. It was the biggest hit of its year by a very wide margin and set the pattern for the family romance for a decade. The Internet Archive copy was uploaded with its format details disguised, so playback is withheld here; the entry stays listed and the Archive's own page remains reachable.
