Majunu (2001)

Majunu (the Tamil spelling of Majnu, the legendary lover) is a 2001 romantic drama starring Prashanth, then one of Tamil cinema's leading romantic heroes, opposite Rinke Khanna, the Hindi actress in her Tamil debut. Prashanth plays a young man whose love for a woman becomes a near-obsession, and the romance leads him into conflict with her family and a powerful antagonist played by Raghuvaran. It was directed by Ravichandran, who earlier made the hit Kannedhirey Thondrinal. Harris Jayaraj composed the music shortly after his breakthrough with Minnale, and the songs were the film's biggest draw.
