Malhar (1951)

Malhar is a 1951 romantic drama starring Arjun and Shammi, notable above all as a film produced by the playback singer Mukesh. Its music by Roshan, then early in his career, is the film's lasting legacy, especially the duet "Bade Armaan Se Rakha Hai Balam Teri Kasam" sung by Lata Mangeshkar and Mukesh, which is still remembered as one of the loveliest songs of the period. The film is a simple love story of the kind common in the early 1950s.
