About Mandalay FM

Mandalay FM is Myanmar's Mandalay-based pop and entertainment station, first on air on 3 April 2008. It grew out of a joint venture between the Mandalay City Development Committee and the multimedia firm Forever Group, and it built its reputation on Burmese and English chart pop, entertainment shows and live celebrity interviews rather than the state service's news output. In 2013 it carried Myanmar's first live radio show and the country's first on-air traffic report. Aimed at listeners roughly between 25 and 50, it now reaches well beyond Mandalay into the Yangon, Taungoo and Nay Pyi Taw areas.
