Mantri Gari Viyyankudu (1983)

Mantri Gari Viyyankudu, meaning 'the minister's in-law', is a Telugu comedy-drama from the celebrated pair of director Bapu and writer Mullapudi Venkata Ramana. Chiranjeevi, then a rising star, plays an unemployed young man whose romance with Poornima Jayaram's character entangles him with a powerful politician's household, and the film pokes gentle fun at politics, pride and family status. Ilaiyaraaja composed the music.
