Maradona, a hot-headed young man from Kerala named after the footballer, makes a living doing dirty work with his friend. When a job goes wrong and a gangster wants them dead, he flees to Bangalore and hides in an apartment belonging to his friend's relative. Stuck indoors with time on his hands, he grows close to Asha, a nurse who lives in the same building, and to a stray dog, and for the first time he begins to think about the kind of man he has become, even as the people hunting him draw closer. Vishnu Narayan's debut balances quiet romance with a thriller undercurrent, and Tovino Thomas gives an easy, rough-edged performance. Sushin Shyam's music and the film's gentle mood won it a following after release.
