Senguttuvan is a debt-ridden young man who gets into smuggling to make quick money. A gangster offers him a fortune to find the "maragadha naanayam", an ancient emerald coin, but the job has a catch: everyone who has tried to steal it has met a strange death, because the coin is guarded by the vengeful spirit of a long-dead king. With his hapless friends, Senguttuvan comes up with an outrageous plan involving the spirits of the dead, and the result is a madcap fantasy comedy full of possessions, chases and absurd twists. The debut of director ARK Saravan, it became a sleeper hit, praised for its original premise and its comic ensemble, especially Anandaraj and Munishkanth.
