Ganesh, nicknamed Mass, is a hard-hitting young man in Visakhapatnam who takes on bullies and has a soft spot for those who cannot defend themselves. His protective streak brings him into conflict with a dangerous don, and the feud costs him dearly, setting him on a path of revenge, while his romance with a spirited young woman adds lighter moments. Mass was the directorial debut of dance choreographer Raghava Lawrence, who later created the Muni and Kanchana films, and it was produced by Nagarjuna, who stars. It was a box-office hit with Devi Sri Prasad's energetic songs and Lawrence's dance-heavy staging.
