Mast Kalandar (1991)

Mast Kalandar is a Hindi action comedy from 1991 directed by Rahul Rawail, the maker of Arjun and Betaab. Its cast includes Anupam Kher, Shammi Kapoor and Dharmendra. The film is best remembered today for Anupam Kher's role as Pinku, an outrageously camp, effeminate villain who became one of the most talked-about characters of early-1990s Hindi cinema, and is still discussed in debates about how Hindi films have portrayed queer-coded characters. Otherwise it is a typical crime-and-comedy entertainer of its time.
