The hero has been a fighter since childhood, always ready to take on anyone he thinks is in the wrong, and his anger has made him both a local hero and a constant worry to his mother. When he clashes with a politician and his powerful network, the conflict grows into a public battle about corruption and patriotism, and the consequences reach his family. Masterpiece was the directorial debut of dialogue writer Manju Mandavya and was a big hit for Yash in the years just before K.G.F made him a national star. It pairs him with Shanvi Srivastava, and Suhasini Maniratnam plays his mother in an emotional thread that runs through the action.
