Babu works as a delivery boy in Hyderabad, earning too little to live on, while his flatmate Yesu has worked out a sly way to squeeze extra cash from customers. Babu reluctantly tries the trick on a delivery to an elderly woman, things go badly wrong, and he flees in panic. Soon he realises that something far more sinister has happened in that flat, and that he may be blamed for it. To clear himself he must work out what really happened, with the help of his clueless friends. Mathu Vadalara, roughly 'shake off the stupor', is a dark comedy-thriller made on a small budget that became a surprise hit for its fresh writing and Satya's comedy. It launched two sons of composer M. M. Keeravani: Sri Simha as actor and Kaala Bhairava as composer. A sequel followed in 2024.
