Maya Machhindra (1975)

Maya Machhindra draws on the legends of Matsyendranath, or Machhindranath, the founder of the Nath tradition of yogis, and his disciple Gorakhnath, including the famous tale of the guru falling under the spell of worldly maya and the disciple setting out to rescue him. It was directed by Babubhai Mistry, the special-effects pioneer behind many Hindi mythological and fantasy films, and features Abhi Bhattacharya with Satyajeet. Like his other films, it combines devotion, miracles and trick photography for family audiences.
