Meaghamann (2014)

A young officer has been living undercover for years, working his way up a powerful narcotics network operating out of Goa, his real identity known to almost no one. As he finally gets close to the faceless kingpin, a chance romance and a leak inside the police put him in danger, and he must keep his nerve as the gang begins to hunt for the mole. Meaghamann was Magizh Thirumeni's follow-up to his acclaimed debut Thadaiyara Thaakka and keeps the same lean, gritty approach to the crime genre. Arya plays the cop against type, quiet and watchful, while Hindi actor Ashutosh Rana makes a menacing villain. Reviewers praised its taut first half and stylish staging of gang violence, and it gained a following as a hard-edged undercover thriller.
