The daughter of the American president is abducted and held in a fortified compound by a ruthless warlady, and the government decides to send a deniable team. It recruits four dangerous women from prison, each a specialist in weapons, combat or infiltration, and promises them pardons if they succeed. Dropped behind enemy lines, the reluctant squad must learn to trust each other while fighting their way through the warlady's army. Mercenaries is a female answer to The Expendables from The Asylum, the studio famous for low-budget genre films, and its fun lies in its cast of action veterans: stuntwoman Zoe Bell, Brigitte Nielsen, Vivica A. Fox, Terminator 3 star Kristanna Loken and martial-arts legend Cynthia Rothrock.
