Mohabbat Isko Kehte Hain (1965)

Mohabbat Isko Kehte Hain ('this is what they call love') is a 1965 Hindi romantic drama directed by Akhtar Mirza, starring Shashi Kapoor and Nanda, one of the most popular screen pairs of the mid-1960s. It is a gentle, song-filled love story with the emotional misunderstandings typical of the romances of the decade. The film is remembered above all for Khayyam's music, including the song 'Thehriye hosh mein aa loon', which remains a favourite of old Hindi film music lovers. Akhtar Mirza, the writer of Naya Daur, is the father of filmmakers Saeed and Aziz Mirza. It is a pleasant period piece for viewers who enjoy the soft-focus romances of the decade.
