Molly has spent years in the United States and returns to her small Kerala town with her outspoken ways, her jeans and her bicycle intact, to the bemusement of the neighbours. While her husband is still abroad she works at a local bank and lives by her own rules, until a notice for an old tax penalty brings her face to face with Pranav, a rigid income tax officer who refuses to bend. What starts as a dispute over a small sum becomes a battle of egos that drags in lawyers, relatives and the whole town. Ranjith Sankar's comedy-drama gave Revathi one of her most popular later roles, a middle-aged heroine who drives the story herself, with Prithviraj playing against type as her humourless opponent. It is a warm, talky film about stubbornness, dignity and growing older without giving up.
