Monica (2011)

Monica is a 2011 Hindi political thriller directed by Sushen Bhatnagar, with Divya Dutta in the title role of a journalist determined to make her name. As she gets close to powerful politicians and the people around them, the line between reporting and getting involved begins to blur, and her ambition draws her into intrigue and danger. Rajit Kapur, Ashutosh Rana and Tinnu Anand fill out the cast of officials, fixers and operators. The film is a rare lead role for Divya Dutta, usually seen in supporting parts, and paints a cynical picture of the ties between politics, crime and the media.
