Mohanlal plays a polished trickster who arrives at a once-grand family's ancestral home posing as an expert brought in to help with the valuation of its heirlooms. Feuding heirs, hidden motives and a vault of priceless objects give him plenty to work with, but it soon becomes clear that his plan has deeper roots than simple greed. Mr. Fraud is a heist entertainer in which the pleasure lies in watching the con unfold and guessing who is fooling whom. It reunited Mohanlal with director B. Unnikrishnan after Madampi and Grandmaster, with music by Gopi Sundar. Miya George, Siddique and Dev Gill appear in supporting roles.
