Sridhar has one dream: to become a music director in films. Supported by his elder brother and his family, he spends years trying to break into the industry, pitching tunes, waiting outside studios and coming agonisingly close, while his love for the woman played by Jyothika grows and the pressure to settle down and earn a living mounts. The film follows how long a person can hold on to a dream and what it costs the people around him. Mugavaree ('address') was the debut of director V. Z. Durai and is regarded as one of Ajith Kumar's finest performances from his early career, with Raghuvaran memorable as the supportive brother. Vivek supplies the comedy, and Deva composed the songs.
