Chiranjeevi plays three roles in this Telugu masala entertainer: brothers born as triplets who are scattered as babies and raised apart, one ending up on the side of the law and the others in very different worlds. As each grows up with his own temperament, romance and troubles, the threads of a long-buried family wrong start pulling them towards the same villain. The film leans on mistaken-identity comedy, songs and fights, with much of the fun coming from watching the star switch between three distinct personalities, often in the same scene. Mugguru Monagallu was directed by K. Raghavendra Rao, the veteran known for glossy commercial hits, and pairs Chiranjeevi with three leading ladies of the period, Ramya Krishnan, Nagma and Roja. It is a good example of the multiple-role star vehicles that were popular in 1990s Telugu cinema.
