Ashu is a young boy who feels neglected by his busy parents and has no real friend to play with. When he prays to Lord Ganesha, the god appears to him as a playful, animated companion whom only he can see. Ganesha joins in his games, helps him at school and guides him through his fears, and when trouble comes to Ashu's family, his divine friend is there to help. My Friend Ganesha mixes live action with animation and was made for young children, with simple lessons about faith, honesty and kindness. Its success led to several sequels, and it remains a favourite with children around Ganesh Chaturthi.
