Mylanchi Monchulla Veedu (2014)

Mylanchi Monchulla Veedu (roughly "a house as lovely as henna") is a 2014 Malayalam family comedy-drama directed by Benny Thomas. Jayaram and Kaniha lead the older generation, while Asif Ali and Meera Nandan play the young couple whose romance sets the household in turmoil. The film mixes light comedy with family sentiment, as old grudges, ego clashes and the question of whom the young people may marry pull the families in different directions. It is built for a family audience, with songs, a large cast of character actors and Jayaram in the kind of genial, comic role he is best known for.
