Surya is a soldier in the Indian Army who wants only to serve at the border, but his violent temper keeps landing him in trouble. After one outburst too many, his officers give him a last chance: he must get a certificate of mental fitness from a renowned psychologist, who happens to be the father he walked out on as a teenager. Returning to Visakhapatnam, Surya has three weeks to control himself while a local gangster gives him every reason not to. It was the first film directed by writer Vakkantham Vamsi, and the music was the Telugu debut of the Bollywood composers Vishal–Shekhar. Arjun Sarja plays the father. The full title is Naa Peru Surya, Naa Illu India, 'My name is Surya, my home is India'.
