A young police officer finds himself with an unusual partner: a highly trained former army dog. Man and dog take time to trust each other, but when a series of kidnappings by a cruel criminal begins, they must work together, and the dog's skills turn out to be the key to the hunt. Naaigal Jaakirathai ("beware of dogs") was promoted as one of the first Tamil films to give a dog a full lead role, and the animal, a Belgian Malinois, performs many impressive scenes. It was directed by Shakti Soundar Rajan, who later made Miruthan and Tik Tik Tik, and produced by Sathyaraj for his son Sibiraj.
