Nagavalli (2010)

A wealthy family moves into a grand old palace and soon one of its young women begins to behave strangely, haunted by Nagavalli, a dancer who died there long ago. A psychiatrist, Dr. Vijay, arrives to solve the case scientifically, but the deeper he goes the more the past seems to be repeating itself, with the shadow of the tyrannical king Nagabhairava Rajasekhara falling over the house. Nagavalli is the Telugu remake of P. Vasu's own Kannada hit Aptharakshaka and a sequel to the Chandramukhi story that Vasu first told in Kannada as Apthamitra and Rajinikanth made famous in Tamil. Venkatesh plays both the psychiatrist and the king, Anushka leads a large female cast, and Gurukiran's music carries over from the Kannada original.
