Rama Rao comes from a family of police officers and has only ever wanted to wear the khaki himself. When corruption and a dangerous conspiracy stand between him and his dream, he decides to fight it whether or not he has a badge. His path crosses with the legend of Alexander, a fearless officer played by Sai Dharam Tej in an extended role. Nakshatram ("star") was a return to action for Krishna Vamsi, the director of Gulabi, Ninne Pelladata and Khadgam, and its central theme is respect for the police uniform. Regina Cassandra and Pragya Jaiswal play the female leads, and Tanish switches to villainy.
