In Visakhapatnam, a soft-spoken dance teacher wins the heart of a young woman, played by Preeti Jhangiani, and the affection of everyone around him. But when enemies from Rayalaseema track him down, the truth comes out: he is Narasimha Naidu, the son of a village leader who once gave everything to protect his people from a murderous rival clan, and a man who has sworn to keep his violent past behind him. Directed by B. Gopal, who had earlier made Samarasimha Reddy with Balakrishna, the film was one of the biggest Telugu hits of its time, setting box-office records and cementing the faction drama as a genre. Released at Sankranti 2001, it emerged on top in a famous clash with films starring Chiranjeevi and Venkatesh, and Mani Sharma's songs were hugely popular.
