Naujawan (1951)

Naujawan ("young people") is a 1951 romantic drama directed by Mahesh Kaul, starring Premnath, then a romantic lead rather than the villain he later became famous as, opposite Nalini Jaywant. The film's lasting fame comes from its music by S. D. Burman with lyrics by Sahir Ludhianvi, above all Lata Mangeshkar's breezy "Thandi Hawayein Lehra Ke Aayein", one of the defining film songs of the early 1950s. The film itself is a pleasant, youthful love story of its time.
