A young man and his friends in north Chennai spend their spare time as volunteer firefighters, racing to blazes before the official engines arrive, and his dream is to join the fire service for real. One night a confrontation goes wrong and a notorious gangster ends up dead, and suddenly the young men are hunted by his men and the police at the same time. Neruppu Da ("it's fire") was the debut of director B. Ashok Kumar and was produced by its star, Vikram Prabhu, grandson of the legendary Sivaji Ganesan. Its fire-rescue sequences are its most distinctive feature, and Sean Roldan composed the music. Nikki Galrani plays the heroine.
