Uma, a bright but struggling student, falls in love with Pallavi, but her father wants a settled groom, and while Uma goes away to make something of himself she is married to Arun. Years later Uma, now heartbroken and drinking, turns up in the United States where Pallavi and Arun live. Arun, confident in his marriage, makes a surprising offer: Uma can stay with them for ten days, and if Pallavi still loves him after that, Arun will step aside. Ninnu Kori was the debut of director Shiva Nirvana and was praised for its mature handling of love, marriage and moving on, and for the performances of Nani, Nivetha Thomas and Aadhi Pinisetty. Gopi Sundar's songs were very popular. It was remade in Tamil as Thalli Pogathey (2021).
