Noor Mahal (1965)

Noor Mahal is a 1965 Hindi mystery drama directed by Nausher Engineer, with Chitra and Jagdeep in the lead and dancer Madhumati in support. In the manner of the haunted-mansion films that followed Mahal and Bees Saal Baad, it centres on an old palace and a mysterious woman whose presence and song bewitch the hero, with the question of whether she is real or a ghost hanging over the story. It is a modest black-and-white film with romance, suspense and music, from the period when Jagdeep still played romantic leads.
