Okkadu Migiladu (2017)

Okkadu Migiladu ("only one remains") is set against the Sri Lankan civil war. Manchu Manoj plays two roles, the commander of a Tamil rebel movement fighting the Sri Lankan army and a young student leader in the present who speaks up for the suffering. The narrative follows a group of refugees attempting a perilous sea crossing to India, interwoven with flashbacks to the armed struggle. Directed by Ajay Andrews Nuthakki, it was an unusual serious war drama for its lead and for Telugu cinema.
