Kadakkal Chandran is the chief minister of Kerala, a stern, honest man with little patience for the compromises of politics. After an incident exposes how little power voters really have once an election is over, he champions a bold idea: a Right to Recall law that would allow people to remove legislators who betray their trust. The proposal sets him against powerful figures in his own party and in the opposition, and the film follows his struggle to push it through. One is a political drama written by the duo Bobby and Sanjay, built around Mammootty's commanding presence as an idealised leader, with Murali Gopy and Joju George in key roles. It marked the screen debut of Ishaani Krishna.
