Amit has just been dumped and is drifting through his job and his overbearing family; Samara is a talented dancer with a complicated mother and a dream of making it big. They live in the same city, have overlapping problems and nearly meet again and again, but the film follows them on separate tracks as each tries to sort out work, family and love. One by Two is a gentle urban romantic comedy about two halves who have not yet found each other. It was the directorial debut of screenwriter Devika Bhagat, who wrote Bachna Ae Haseeno, and starred Abhay Deol with Preeti Desai, then his real-life partner. Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy composed the soundtrack.
