Oru Veedu Iru Vasal (1990)

Oru Veedu Iru Vasal ("one house, two doors") is a 1990 Tamil film written and directed by K. Balachander, built around two separate narratives that share a theme of women facing injustice and finding the courage to stand on their own. The violinist brothers Ganesh and Kumaresh appear in the cast alongside Vaishnavi. True to the title, it is less a conventional single-story film than a pair of linked social dramas, told in the director's characteristic women-centred and socially critical style.
