Brahmanayudu is the most respected man in his corner of the Palnadu region, a leader whose word is law and who protects the poor from bullies and corrupt landlords. His strength makes enemies, and a vengeful rival family begins plotting to bring him down through his loved ones. Romance, family emotion and village honour are woven around a series of showdowns in which the hero takes on armies of henchmen almost single-handedly. Palnati Brahmanayudu was made by B. Gopal, who had directed Balakrishna's faction blockbusters Samarasimha Reddy and Narasimha Naidu, and it follows the same formula. It is remembered today mostly for its over-the-top action moments, which have become favourite meme material for Telugu film fans. Sonali Bendre and Aarthi Agarwal play the heroines.
