Sivakumar is a mild, timid young man in Madurai who works a modest job, avoids trouble and is shy around the girl he loves. His elder brother crosses a ruthless don running illegal granite quarries, and pays a terrible price. The family is shattered, and Sivakumar, despite his nature, quietly resolves to strike back, unaware that his retired father has made the same decision and is planning revenge in his own way. Suseenthiran gives the revenge formula a grounded, small-town feel, and veteran director Bharathiraja, playing the grieving father, was widely praised. Vishal also produced the film, which was a hit.
