Parda (1949)

Parda ("veil" or "curtain") is a 1949 Hindi film starring Rehana, a dancer-actress known for spirited roles in the late 1940s, with Amar and Chand Burke. The title evokes both the custom of purdah and the idea of hidden truths. It belongs to the early years after Independence, and is today a rare film mainly of interest to students of that period.
