Shiva grew up resenting his mother's remarriage, and turned into a hot-tempered, aggressive man feared in his neighbourhood. He falls for Geetha, a soft-spoken young woman, and his crude attempts to win her clash with her family and with his own rage, while his violent life draws dangerous enemies. Pogaru ("arrogance") is a high-octane Kannada mass action film starring Dhruva Sarja, known for its stylised fights, which featured several international bodybuilders as henchmen, and for Chandan Shetty's song "Karabuu", which became a big hit. It drew controversy on release over a scene involving priests, which was later cut.
