Pokkiri Simon (2017)

Simon lives for his idol, Tamil star Vijay. He and his friends run a fan club, celebrate every release like a festival and model their lives on the star's films. When his love for Prayaga Martin's character and a clash with a dangerous gang put people close to him at risk, Simon has to prove that some of his hero's courage has rubbed off on him. Pokkiri Simon, named after one of Vijay's best-known films Pokkiri, is a Malayalam comedy-drama that celebrates fan culture across the Kerala-Tamil Nadu border while also poking gentle fun at it. Sunny Wayne carries the film with an energetic lead turn, and it is full of affectionate references to Vijay's hits.
