DCP Rudra is posted to a district dominated by the gangster Nagori Subramaniam, who has the local police in his pocket. At first Rudra appears to play along, even accepting money, which convinces Nagori that he has bought another officer. In fact Rudra is setting the stage for a showdown, and his methods are as rough as the men he is up against. Along the way he romances a lively young woman. Policegiri is a Hindi remake of the Tamil hit Saamy (2003), directed by K. S. Ravikumar, a veteran of Tamil mass cinema, with Prakash Raj as the main villain and songs by Himesh Reshammiya.
