Ponmana Selvan (1989)

Ponmana Selvan ("golden-hearted one") is a 1989 Tamil film directed by P. Vasu, later famous for Chinna Thambi and Chandramukhi, with Vijayakanth in the lead and Shobana as the heroine. It belongs to the run of village family dramas Vijayakanth made in the late 1980s, in which his character's kindness and sense of justice set him against the wealthy and cruel. Songs, comedy and fights fill out a familiar formula. It is available in a Hindi version.
