Prem Kahani (1937)

Prem Kahani ('Love Story') is a 1937 Hindi film directed by Franz Osten, the German director who made many of the early sound films of the Bombay Talkies studio. It stars Ashok Kumar, then a new star after Achhut Kanya, with Maya Devi. Films from this era survive unevenly, and detailed information about this one is limited; it is of interest mainly as a piece of early Hindi talkie history from the studio that shaped the careers of Ashok Kumar and Devika Rani.
